I personally prefer the USB since it takes up 4 AAA batteries, which isn't ideal for such a small object. But if there's one thing I don't like about the USB option, it's that the item doesn't charge, and is therefore not portable when attached to the USB. There are also three colors (red, green, and blue), and you can actually choose to combine the colors in various combinations (my favorite is all three). The rotating feature really adds to the product.
