The volume control is a small dial in the side which can completely mute the sounds it Can be very loud. But dont let that deter you from buying. Come with a separate controller for two play on a tv monitor. Battery life can last a couple of day depending on how much it is used. If used constantly the battery can last a few hours. Take about 2 hours to completely charge. Can be used while charging too. Very fun game console and a must buy!

The battery life is long and being able to charge it has been great. We had an issue with the charging port on the console breaking a few days in and then I emailed the seller and they were very quick to respond and sent a replacement promptly at no charge. I like the new background screens. While I haven't compared all 400 games on the newer version to the older, there are some differences (perhaps in lineup). The new unit has a decal on the case the older version didn't have. The new version hooked up to the tv perfectly. The sound is ok- a bit 'tinny' as was the earlier model. For the money, this handheld has a lot going for it. I especially like the second controller which comes with the unit.

Feels better built and the games run a bit smoother then before. I got my boyfriend to play with me and he loves the extra controller, it fits his giant bear paw hands lol. This is an great gift for any kid that likes to game and amazing to adults to dip back into their childhood. I'm in love with these guys, I hope another comes out with different games(possibly some SNES games)
