Long story short, on the second attempt at charging the console, the charging port came loose and was lost, dangling inside the console.....hence the game would not work without charge.
I reached out to HIDERACOON and they quickly addressed it by replacing the blue mini console, no issues, and, if's or but's. It took a couple days to get the new console and it's working flawlessly to date.
