   It is safe to use, I.e., the user is unlikely to cut/injure themself using this product. The user must be careful to properly screw on the plastic transparent shield before chopping.. . For me this product is easy to clean because I mostly cut vegatables and they rinse off easily. If “sticky” food like meat or carbs was chopped using this product, it world probably be difficult to clean and a automatic dishwasher would be recommended to clean it.

   This is just what I wanted. I anticipate a lot less sliced fingertips and much less time taken to mince those little things that are difficult for me to handle. And I don't have to have the smell of wonderfully pungent garlic on my hands for days afterward. What I didn't expected (guess I didn't read the description thoroughly) is that I can chop directly on my cutting board. How excellent is that! Well made, easy to clean and put away, and thoroughly functional.

   We absolutely love our food chopper, we used it almost daily for our 2 kids as they transitioned from purée to chunkier food consistencies. Of course, it got heavy use between the 2 kids but held up really well for 2 years. Only issue we had was with an older model where the bottom rubber cover no longer stayed on (big issue when trying to hold the food in before/after chopping). We contacted the company and they responded right away and sent us a replacement with the updated design for the rubber cover free of charge. The rubber cover looks much more secure and sturdy! Very happy with our product and extremely satisfied by the customer service. This company really stands behind their products!

   This chopper works much better than a Cuisinart I had. It was probably less expensive too. I like the fact that you can take apart most of it & clean very well. You just have to be careful so as not to cut yourself on the blades. If you take it apart properly, it shouldn't be an issue. So far I am very happy with it.
