“The Fat Cat” Cat Backpack – For Larger Cats

Our breathable cat backpack is great for larger “big boned” cats, 2 medium sized cats (yes, you can use it for two cats), or lots of kittens! All of our styles have a clip and bungee for you to attach a leash so your cat can “hang out” of the backpack!

  • Good Ventilation: A large number of ventilation holes and mesh panels on both sides and top allow air to circulate. Replacement mesh windows are installed for more ventilated use. You can also open the top window or remove the bubble window for your fur friends. The seat belt prevents your pet from jumping out of the harness.

Lots of treats and patience and within a month she's already getting pretty comfortable hanging out inside the backpack and even walking around while inside it. I chose this backpack over less expensive ones because I wanted something durable that would last, and so far this backpack keeps its shape well and hasn't shown any signs of wear. I love the side pockets and interchangeable bubble window. The air-holes are also perfect to dispense treats through.     Wow this is big. I got the large because the medium wasn’t available. There are some differences between the bag and the description. The large bag does have a zipper around the bottom. And there aren’t any zippered side pockets. I only have the two mesh pockets (1 on each side). It does feel very sturdy and after it’s “assembled” (zipped up) it is lighter than it seemed when I first removed from the box. I have a 13 pound Siamese and there is more than enough room for him. Update: we just took Nibbles to the park for the first time and the back pack was great. Nibbles hopped right back in whenever he got nervous. Its just the right height for him to sit up straight and look out the top. At first I thought the dome window was goofy but he enjoyed looking out of it. I do wish it had another opening on the side but overall I’m very happy I got this and would do it again.

I suffered from anxiety thinking of carrying an awkward standard style cat crate in case of natural or other types of disaster. In the Fat Cat Backpack her weight is hardly noticeable and the chest strap limits the Conestoga-Wagon-style jostling. It took her a little while to adjust to joining us on walks, but not long into the first walk she stopped her incessant meowing to look and smell and enjoy her new surroundings. I would highly recommend starting out in quiet places to get your kitty comfortable. Product is fantastic quality, sturdy and very good looking. I have a halter for my kitten and can snap him into the carrier and let him stick his head out. The carrier is comfortable to wear and so far the netting has held up well ---though neither of my cats has attacked it. The only difficultly was working to get the cats into the carrier the first couple of times as it loads from the top. I keep the cat in the pack while traveling in the car and have tried both putting the seat belt around the carrier and putting it through the shoulder straps. Took the kitten to a busy park in the pack and only two people noticed the cat in the pack. Hope this helps
