Pleasantly surprised how well the tool works. It even gets out the really deep rooted weeds, like thistle (my enemy) which can still grow as long as there is a piece of root left after pulling it. You really don't have to get your hands dirty, the tool does all the work. I'm not really sure what the scooper does, but I use it the way I believe it should be. It doesn't work on weeds in between patio bricks obviously, but for the garden or lawn, it's fantastic.
