   Works great. No batteries to manage. They were out of the other colors so I opted for the black one and wasn't disappointed. I left the bubbler/sprayers off and use it in a large Pennington clay plant saucer like you'd find at The HD. If you don't want it to float you can take the foam disks off of it. When the sun is out, pump runs. When shaded, pumps intermittently. When no sunlight, the thermonuclear reactor kicks in and generates enough electricity for the Eastern sea board.

   I was trying to find a pump fountain that wasn't run on electricity and this seemed like a good alternative. It's not perfect because it doesn't run all of the time, but it works well for what it is advertised to do. I have it in a large, round pot with not much depth. It only works in the bright sun so beware of that, but when it's in the sun it works well. Depending on what you have in it you may need to refill the receptacle with water every other day or so because the fountain will spurt water out of the fountain as it floats around BUT it does have suction cups on the bottom so it can be stuck to the bottom of whatever you are putting it in so it will stay in place (I haven't tried this yet but may in the future).

   I gave this product five stars because it works as I expected it would. I use it in a birdbath that I placed in a sunny spot. It has to be in the sun for it to work. The technology of this solar fountain is not the same as that of solar lights. It does not keep the charge. It works directly off the sun. It stops pumping once the direct sun is passed. I anchored the fountain by placing it on about 3"x 3" granite tile so that it does not float. I think that it works better that way. It looks very pretty and I love sitting near the birdbath listening to the water.

   This is the perfect addition to one’s botanical garden, yard, bird sanctuary, etcetera. However, as one would imagine, in order for the item to work in its fullest effect, it needs direct UV exposure. This is not to say that the product is completely inept, however, given what I imagine one would like to see, you must place it in direct sunlight. It can be noted that my fountain pump actually still managed to spew out some miniscule spritzes of water even on an overcast day! Another point that I wish to add...I believe that most folks would want to enjoy a water feature on beautiful sunny days over overcast days anyways!

   For the money, this is the perfect little fountain for my Bird bath. It works as soon as it's exposed to sunlight. Once in shade, it slows down but still works well enough to keep water moving. The nozzle creates a water stream about 6-8 inches tall. The suction cups don't hold it to the bottom of the bath for long, even though my Bird bath is actually an aluminum cake pan, so it will float but it still works. The problem comes when it floats close to the edge and a breeze results in water being thrown out of the bird bath. The pump motor will burn out if it runs too long without water. I solved this by removing the nozzle head which allows the water burble up like a water from a hose held upright, circulating the water without throwing it over the edge of the bath.

   I ordered this for my small pond in backyard. I cannot believe how great this works. It has a beautiful strong water fountain that shoots the water quite high, or you can attach other pieces to the fountain that will change the flow of the water to what you prefer. I was so pleased with this purchase. I am definitely going to purchase another one. I have a fountain pump now that uses electricity so I will eliminate the electrical fountain and use this instead which I am sure will give me some savings. It only works when the sun is shining, once the sun goes down the fountain does not work. It is a attractive looking product. I would definitely recommend this.

   This is a great addition to my birdbath. It works as advertised and the birds love it. At first I put it in a very shallow birdbath and the fountain effect emptied the water several times a day. It was pretty to watch, but a pain to keep adding water. So I sacrificed the prettiness of the spray and removed the spray nozzle. Now the water bubbles up out of the top and still looks pretty but doesn't empty the birdbath so frequently. I am very pleased with this product. It works very well when it has full sunshine, but if it's a cloudy day, it does not work, which is to be expected with a solar powered fountain. :D
