The pain doesn't really bother me. I bought a numbing cream but I haven't needed it yet. It does have a small sting... but nothing super painful. The spots do scab up for about a week before falling off and leaving a small pink scar. Just be careful.... it basically burns your skin. Be careful.

My skin tag was smaller than my fiance's so, mine didn't bleed at all. His, on the other hand was a bit bigger and bled minimally. By the time I had the skin tag off of him, the unit had cauterized his bleed so, it had stopped. He also said it wasn't too terrible.
