Worked great in the snow and ice areas. Easy enough to install after watching you tubes and the tutorial vid on this product. Actually doing it on the side of the road with wet muddy roads and hands is a different story. Remove your nice long sleeve shirt beforehand and don't wear pants you don't want to ruin. I felt traction on the road and they held up fine traveling up to 35 mph with no snow on the ground. Did not see any rust happening before or after wet snow covered roads approximately 3 hours of use. Will spray them down with water and maybe some WD40 to loosen them back up and bag them for the next trip.

I bought these security chains and the the tensioning rubber center thingy because I was assuming that the self locking tensioning system that is incorporated in the set was crap. I was surprised to find out that the tensioning system that is built into the chains is actually pretty good. was able to get them on fairly easy and able to tension them fairly easy. I did drive them around the block once and did have to readjust the tensioning but it was expected.
