My hair type is 4a, thick and long and this styler made quick work of straightening my coils and leaving my hair soft and silky. The instructions indicate going slow and about 2 or 3 passes for my type hair, but I only needed 1 to 2 passes with the Instyler. I will definitely recommend this to my natural hair friends.
