The job should take around 10 minutes for someone who knows their way around simple tools such as a drill, screws, wall plugs/anchors, etc. I don't consider myself handy so most things take a while for me. However, with enough time I usually get it right and sturdy. I like the scratch resistant material, however, I feel like if the bike hits the mount hard enough it can scratch the bike so I'm really careful when placing it on the mount. The material itself is heavy and strong. When installed correctly using wall studs, plastic anchors/plugs, and all that, it is very sturdy and won't fall or break the wall
