We have no central air, and his room does not have a good window for a window unit. He doesn't want to leave the door open for air flow. This unit cools the space around his desk and bed pretty well. The only con is the water needs to be refilled often because of the small water tank. However, a larger water tank would make it less portable.

I bought 2 from a different company last year but if you moved them at all the water would spill out. This one DOES NOT DO THAT !!!!! The funnel makes it easy to add water.
