The crystal-like base is also delightful. One note: The battery compartment cover is held in place by a very tine screw that at first glance looks separate from the battery compartment cover. The tuny screw can be difficult to unscrew and screw back in.

This one also has an option to plug into the wall instead of just batteries which is GREAT! I had it plugged in and my grandma came upstairs. She gasped and told me that the lamp was beautiful. This exceeded my expectations. It cycles through solid colors, and then combinations. The base is so gorgeous it could be a lamp of it's own really. It does require AAA batteries, not AA batteries, so I do not currently own any rechargeables. I was a bit disappointed by that, but the beauty of the lamp more than made up for it. Make sure that you have a small screwdriver on hand to release the battery cover. After that, it does latch on it's own without the screw. I highly recommend this product. The shipping was super fast and the product arrived in excellent condition.
