The mount pieces are build from heavy plastic and are very sturdy. It easily rolls in and out with no problems. I've got 3 dogs, one of every size. My small dog is able to see us through the mesh gate, which is great. My medium dog can peek over the top. She can even stand up on the mesh. The mesh is strong enough to hold her up with no problems. My Labrador puppy tries to get his feet up to stand, but we're teaching him to sit instead. When he does Boyce up and down on the top of the mesh, it holds him up without sagging the mesh. I'm very impressed with this gate!! Love how easily it went up and how sturdy it is!!

You could even open/close it with one hand, which is more than I can say for the others. The biggest thing to get used to is having to push down and twist the lock after latching the gate.
