I think this product overall worked really well. I included before and after photo’s. There are a lot of bad reviews for this, but I feel like it is a lot of user error and not using the product correctly. I read reviews before using it decided to do exactly as instructed on the bottle, and it worked great and in fact I am buying more for another part of the yard instead of spreading traditional grass seed. We cultivated the ground before spreading as well. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS and it will work.

This is a 100% honest review. I'm not sure what the other people's situation was that left reviews but this product has had great results for me so far. I prepped the ground first then poured about a .5" layer of potting soil over the area I wanted the spray. I mixed the product as stated on the bottle and spread it evenly over the area. With proper watering I began seeing the grass come up on the 3rd day. Now it's the 6th day and 50% of the area I sprayed is covered with grass about 1" tall. It may depend on the region and weather when you plant if it actually gives good results or not. I'm located in the southeast U.S. and planted the first part of January and this product had exceeded my expectations. I post pictures when it appears the grass is fully grown in.

It's too early to write about effectiveness, as the grass hasn't grown yet (it hasn't been a week since I "planted" the seeds). I liked the ease of use of the product. There were a few differences in instructions on the bottle vs paper instructions included in the "box". The bottle instructions aren't as in depth, so be sure to look at the paper for instructions. The bottle said to rake gound and spray loose soil, whereas the paper sheet said to rake the first 3" of top soil, for example. The company may want to rethink their instructions, as not everyone will read both bottle and paper for instructions.

I already gave a very detailed review of Hydo Mousse indicating that it worked better by putting down my own grass seed down first then using the Hydro Mousse. This worked the best. I have purchased a great deal of the product and have a lot for next spring to cover damaged areas due to animals digging up large holes in the grass. Using it the way I do makes the Hydro Mousse work so much better. Without spreading my grass down first, I had spotty areas in the yard. I had a very large area to cover. I love the product.
