I don't suppose they will stand up to heavy combat play, but with some gentler moves they work well. We like the 3 different light features. Only trick is getting the little ones to turn them off when they are through playing. It takes 4 clicks of the button to cycle through to 'off'.

They light up in different colors, make noise ( but not obnoxious) and seemed pretty sturdy. Each saber uses 6 batteries but they seem to last a while. They came with batteries in them which was great. Highly recommend them!
