   Works great if you simply follow the instructions and pull out the cubes before the whole thing freezes solid. Compared to the cloudy blobs that you refrigerator normally makes, these cubes are amazing! Several reviewers – the cup is still 1% empty type - were apparently expecting laboratory quality results, and dissed the cubes badly for a few stray bubbles. The common thread was that you could do better by “freezing a big block inside of a small cooler & hand carving the perfect sized cubes.” If you’ve got that kind of time and energy to burn, good for you. If you just want effortless ice like you’ve never seen before, this is the tray for you.

   For years, I’ve been searching for a way to make the perfect clear ice cube. I just found it! I’ve purchased several different devices over the years that would make clear ice cubes and none of them worked! I tried distilled water, boiled water, water from Ethiopian glaciers, no luck! This device is super easy to use and makes Crystal clear cubes! The instructions suggested starting out freezing this for around 24 hours. I was only interested in getting the 10 square cubes and I was able to accomplish that with around 10 hours freezing time. Just be sure to do it over the sink since the bottom section will be mostly water. I’m really having fun with this! Thanks!!!

   It's called directional freezing. I take ice-ology seriously, and when adding ice to my bourbon, I wanted the same crystal clear ice that most nice bars and restaurants now feature. The method is simple, insulate the sides and freeze from the top down - therefore pushing gases and minerals to the bottom - leaving a crystal clear cube. Simple and easy to use for a party of one or two. You'll have to plan in advance (or use the directional freezing method via a cooler) if you have a party where many cubes will be needed.

I found that using a warmer/hot water worked best and that if I left it in around 30 hours, the cubes were more solid. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a drink with a large crystal clear cube.    I purchased this after trying several other products that promised to create clear ice that fell way short of that promise. This product delivers exactly as promised. It does take just a bit of effort to remove the mold once frozen but no more effort than trying to open a jar. I’ve found for the best results use warm water (as the instructions say), and use filtered water from your fridge or distilled water.

When warm I add to the case, and leave in freezer for 2 days. Perfect. Readers won’t see, but after I bought this 2 weeks ago, I just bought 4 more as gifts for some of my employees. Buy it. Boil filtered water. You won’t regret it.

If I want a really good Old Fashioned at home, I needed to get all the tools of the trade. An associate of mine recommended this to me.
