Very well made, which isn’t surprising since made by Melissa & Doug. It is a more decorative plush since sturdy and firm; not the kind of stuffy you cuddle with in bed.    I got my giraffe friend at the beginning of the 2021 quarantine. I had a bit of my adult money saved up and nothing todo when I remembered seeing one of these in target in 2020. I wanted one so bad then but just couldn’t justify getting it. While stuck in my house with nothing todo was fun and all, I couldn’t get that giraffe out of my head. When I had finally decided to just take a leap I bought the giraffe I so longed for and waited. At the time I stayed with my family, parents siblings and my roommate at the time. The only person who knew about my purchase was my roommate. So when a box the size of me came to the house it was a great surprise to my family. This plush brought happiness to everyone in my household during a time when spirits were very low. 5/5 the best purchase I’ve ever made.

   Oh my gosh this adorable giraffe is just georgous! I got this for both of my granddaughters (ages 1 and 2 ) for Birthday! They live in different states so didn't knife Grammie got them the same thing "wink wink". I am so very glad I did. It is now 2 years later and the giraffe looks brand-new and she is played with and on every single day!! I don't recommend letting your child sit on it because a) it isn't made for that and b) it's a bit wobbly and they will fall. However, holding them will they sit on her to take a picture is fine in my book but never ever leave them on there by themselves! Just a warning to all those that willscoff at me taking their picture while mommy or daddy holds them. It is very well made and will - or should- last a life time. After this purchase I ended up buying the mountain gorilla (for my grandson ) and the Orangatang for my granddaughters birthday. Very well made products from a company I trust!

I didn't want to pay this price, but the quality of this ended up exceeding the other one, which was needed because my son can be rough with toys.    I love giraffes, so I've always wanted to have this big giraffe, but couldn't find a reason to do so. So when my first baby was on its way, we found the perfect excuse - nursery decor. Now the giraffe stands next to the crib. It is so cute. It stands on its own with no issues, and seems very sturdy and well constructed. The only weird thing is that the giraffe came in a giant card box, which is kind of too much card box for one product.

   As you can guess though, he did NOT have THIS! My friend Mike can be frustrating to buy for as he often goes ahead and just buys himself what he wants or when I do get him something; expansions to games, kindle, etc., he never has time to get around to enjoy them. One thing I've learned about Mike, However, is that he really loves plushies, and boy, is this the mother of all plushies! I was worried he wasn't going to like it, that maybe I went a little too overboard, but he loves it! He named him Gerry giraffe and talks all the time about how much food he eats, how they play video games together, and so on. So he's great for kids, but he's great for big kids too! I'm kinda jealous, after seeing him I want a giraffe for my apartment. He'd fit perfectly in the corner of my living room. And I could name him Melman, like in Madagascar.    My grandson's room is decorated in an African motif - with murals his very talented mommy painted and crib sheets etc with African animal prints. I first saw this giraffe in the hospital gift shop while my grandson was having a medical procedure to correct a heart defect and fell in love with everything but the price. I looked around online and found the same giraffe here on this website for far less. That made the decision easy - I placed my order the same day. The giraffe arrived in 2 days very well packed. My daughter was really pleased and gave her a boost after our grandson's almost week-long hospital stay. My grandson, at 6 weeks, is a little young to get excited about the giraffe yet! The giraffe stands rounghly 5' tall and is very well made. It also has a very endearing face and is very soft. It's sturdy enough for a small child to sit on (though tall enough that adults should stay close - a fall from the giraffe's back would not be pretty...)

   We bought this giraffe for our daughter for Birthday to add to her massive giraffe collection and it turns out that trying to sneak a 4 foot tall plush giraffe in your house for a week is VERY DIFFICULT! When I opened the box this was shipped in, I immediately turned into a little kid and got giddy, it's adorable and HUGE. My daughter on the other hand was a little freaked out by it standing in front of our Christmas tree and thought it was going to spring alive and eat her. My dog was even worse and refused to go into the livingroom AT ALL until that thing was removed. After she got over the initial shock, she fell in love with it and Christmas night she insisted on sleeping WITH IT in her bed.

   A huge and lovely addition to our nursery. Seems durable, but she's not dragging this huge guy around. Neck has been surprisingly sturdy. So far it's been more furniture than a toy. It's cute, but may be either decor or for older kids. Don't get me wrong, it's the cutest piece next to her crib, kinda' peeks over the side and appears to be snacking on her mobile. It's nice and a bit heavy. There's no question that this guy will stand, he's got pretty firm yet plush legs. He's not rideable by no means either and is quite plush. I think the small eyes are the only firm part, even soft eyelids/lashes/horns. His mouth can open some. His legs are mostly fixed. I think that's it. What a handsome guy. I'll update the review after a year or two of hugs and after a few drags.

We named him Jeriff or "Riff Raff". It's the perfect thing for his nursery.
