I have no doubt it will work perfectly for my purposes which was to be able to make nice sized holes to plant flower bulbs. I can see it would be great for most of the reason you need to dig a hole and don't want to be on your knees digging for hours. The digger I got is not a tall pole so if your tall you may want a longer extension on your digger. Looking forward to digging some holes!

So...The soil in this area is more rock than dirt. The idea of running a motorized auger down into it and possibly destroying my hands/arms or worse just didn't excite me.
