I bought the XL for my 90 lb. German Shepherd. I was debating on getting large because he is (what I consider) small for a german shepherd dog. His girth size is also in the middle of the size chart for a large vest. After reading reviews, I went with the XL because most reviews say that the vest runs small. Very glad I did! Vest seems to fit him perfectly. He did seem to be unsure of how to walk around, but that is just something that would take some getting used. May be a good idea to get your dog accustomed to the vest before heading out to the water, if they haven't worn one before. Overall, seems to be a very well made product. I did try to pick my dog up with the attached handles at the top of the best, and he made it clear that it was uncomfortable for him (being a shepherd, he is a very vocal and opinionated dog anyway lol). Will update once the weather gets warmer and we go swimming.
