Another great feature of this product is the "suction" created by the spinning disk helps reduce the spread of skin dust, which is always an issue when using sandpaper or other similar products. With the Pedi Spin most of the skin dust is captured inside the blade compartment.
The Pedi Spin has my vote.
Yes, I would highly recomment the Pedi Spin to those able to resist pushing the unit into the callus. If you can be gentle and patient, the Pedi Spin will sand away all traces of a callus. I think it is a great product.
One word of advice: only use the metal portion on pretty tough skin and don't use too much pressure. It takes a few minutes to learn the right amount of pressure.
As another reviewer said, the stopping of the motor when one presses it against the skin too hard is a safety measure. In order for it to be effective, you must lightly brush it against the skin. The package claims that the skin will be collected in a separate reservoir, this is not the case. There is a small sand storm of dead skin when you use the PediSpin right. However, the lack of collection feature is by *far* made up for by the fact that this thing works great. I included pictures as they speak far better than I can. The only reason that there is anything left of the corn on my heel is that I was cautious with it. It too me about 15 minutes of patient Pedying to get my results. By tomorrow night, that sucker's gone. I highly recommend Earth 2 Skin's Heeltastic as a follow up ointment.
I keep reading people saying that it stops spinning for a second when they apply pressure--that's the safety feature. After using the wand and the ped egg, you're used to grinding really hard on your feet and you instinctively apply that same pressure here. The pedi-spin stops when you apply too much pressure, so use a light touch. It's an electric sander--you don't want to hurt yourself.
So far I'm very happy with it. It took my feet from ragged, cracked, and rough to smooth and presentable
