The gasses are encased in microbubbles, and alkaline reactive elements are mixed with something to make it safe. The table comes with a card explaining what each sample is. The quality of this periodic table is excellent. The piece felt very solid, and it was perfectly clear acrylic so that the view of each sample was unobscured.
