   This product really works! This is the 6th. Scarecrow that I have purchased to protect our flowers from deer. There are a few things that you should be careful about when installing the Scarecrows. First, be sure that you do no overtighten any connection and use tape to insure a tight fit. Be sure to replace the batteries each year or when they fail to operate properly. I use a "master turn off" to control all of the Scarecrows when we are working in the gardens. Simply use a hose turn-off just before the first Scarecrow and you will not have to worry about the initial shock of water hitting you in the face when you enter the garden. Be sure to take them in for winter and blow the water lines to prevent freezing...I use a hose plug to seal the line after blowing it out. I do not use the special decals that are included with the Scarecrows...I suppose that they wold scare other critters away but I think that they look stupid.

   I bought this to deter cats from attacking the birds at the feeders, and also for using my yard as a bathroom. Since installing (and learning how NOT to get soaked), there haven't been any indications of bird attacks (lots of feathers), and I haven't had to clean up any of their poop.
   FYI If your grass gets too high, the blades will set it off.

   The raccoons having been turning up our newly sodded lawn. Unfortunately we put sod on a large area, so weren’t able to protect it all with the sprinkler. The only area they aren’t bothering is the one where we have the sprinkler set up. I have only had one occasion when the sprinkler went off unexpectedly. My son stopped by and when he came around the side of the house he got a surprise. Not the critter we intended to startle, but it was a good laugh.
   I read reviews about the lack of quality, so were careful in the set up, and it is working well.

   Bought the Scarecrow to use to protect koi fish in our pond after losing 4 in a week. The control allows for a range of motion detection sensitivity. I use 4 or 5 and only have it on when we are not in the backyard. Otherwise people set it off and get soaked. Definitely works to keep birds and raccoons away at night and early mornings.
