I've been trying to figure out how to have moving water in my bird bath to help attract birds without digging a water line, so this looked like a great option. After letting it sit in the sun for a bit, I placed the fountain in my concrete bird bath which is partly in the shade. It began working as the sun shined on it and even a little without direct sun. I moved a different bird bath into direct sun, and the fountain worked beautifully. I'm looking forward to seeing what birds it might help attract to my back yard and am likely to purchase at least one more.

I use these in my bird baths to help keep the water cleaner. Without this they turn completely green and I have to wash them out. This creates enough water movement to help decrease algae growth. It does make a difference. I don’t use the spray attachments only because it gets windy here and it blows the water out. The sprayers do make it look a lot nicer and will give a water sound and comes with different sizes for different sprays.

This little fountain is the coolest! When it's in the sun and sitting in water, it shoots up a nice little spray. I have it floating in my kid's little kiddy pool in the backyard. She loves it and everyone who has seen it loves it and asks where I got it. It came with 3 or 4 different nozzles, so I tested all of them and I use the one that shoots highest. If I had a big pool, I'd get a bunch of them and let them just float around all day long.

It's about 5" in diameter, I took off the film cover, snapped on the nozzle and walked outside to the birdbath; I sat it in the birdbath and immediately it started! With the nozzle that I have on the water stream is shooting up about 24". So user friendly and so kind to the birds to keep the water recirculating for them. The instructions say a lifetime of aprox. 10000 hours, so at this price, I will be replacing it when it goes out. For those who don't want to spend a fortune on a fountain, this is an economical way to go and for those who are water pump challenged, this is a simple way to go. I highly recommend!!!

There is a lot to like about this little solar fountain. It’s well designed and from an engineering standpoint, it’s made to work well under sunny and cloudy conditions. First of all, make sure to remove the plastic covering the solar panels, then just place it in your bird-bath/pool and watch it go. Since the fountain is designed to float on the surface, unless it’s operating in very shallow water, you don’t have to worry about the pump getting fouled with debris. Also, as others have mentioned, the flow does seem to go down a little under cloudy conditions, but that may be due to my battery not being fully charged.
