Make sure follow the instructions on how you should treat the egg prior to using the extractor and it works great 90% of the time. The pumping action and extraction of the egg is actually a very satisfying sensation. The egg comes out clean and the shell is almost fully intact. I suggest placing a disposable plate under the base before use for easier cleanup.
