New York Times Project Grinds to a Halt

I’ve come to the decision that I just don’t have this book in me right now. God bless the people who earnestly read this stuff, but I tried the first few pages and I’ve decided that, having finished two edge-of-your-seat potboiler thriller series, I can’t do another right now.

Instead, I’m first going to read Professor Moriarty: The Hound of D’Urbervilles, because I want to, then I’m going to try to cleanse my brain and work my way through the Man Booker 2011 shortlist. I may come back to this New York Times List project when I’ve restored a little more of my cultural capital.

So here’s to you, J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts), you broke me.
